The Malaysian Society of Arborist or better known by its local acronym PArM (Persatuan Arborist Malaysia) is organizing an International Conference on Tropical Arboriculture (INTAC KL 2018) in September, 2018 with the theme of Urban Trees: Safety, Resiliency & Sustainability. The Conference will be held at Sunway Putra Hotel Kuala Lumpur from 25th until 27th September 2018.

INTAC KL 2018 with the theme of Urban Trees: Safety, Resiliency & Sustainability will serve as a forum for like minded stakeholders to discuss, deliberate and share knowledge on the issues of managing tropical trees in urban areas within the context of their sustenance and the benefits while keeping them safe and healthy.

INTAC KL 2018 will offer more than 30 oral presentations, demonstrations and workshops presented by practitioners and researchers from the arboriculture fraternity.

In conjunction with the event, the organizer has taken the “green initiative” to make this conference a “Low Carbon” event by having a tree sapling planted for each number of confirmed participants. The saplings will be planted at a dedicated site prior to the event.

A parallel event Malaysia Tree Climbing Championship 2018 (MTCC 2018) will be held in conjunction with the conference. Interested persons can contact the secretariat for further information.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND? 

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS 

You are invited to submit abstract for INTAC KL 2018 Conference no later than 30th June 2018. Notification of acceptance for abstract will be made by 31st July 2018. Topics should focus on Urban Trees, their Resiliency and Sustainability simultaneously maintaining environmental equilibrium between development and society needs.

iii. Practices, Safety and Innovation in Arboriculture.

iv. Arboriculture Education and Public Awareness.

v. Heritage and Urban Trees Conservation.
